Features

  1. [Firmware/Cloud/Console] Daytime Only Mode + GPS Support full release GPS support is now available across the entire range of supported charge controllers. Daytime Only Mode is now available for ProStar and SunSaver lines of charge controllers (support for more brands / models coming in a future update)

Enhancements

  1. [Firmware] Communication Error Reporting Devices will now self report if they are experiencing communication errors. This will help users identify hardware communication errors early on, and notify the dashboard of when the situation has resolved.

    • The dashboard will display NOT SUPPORTED in the charge controller model if there is a hardware error. For more info on how to fix communications errors please see the installation page.

    • Once the error has cleared the Noi device will reset automatically and the dashboard view will be corrected.

  2. [Firmware] Daytime Only Mode deactivates with Load On When you turn off the Daytime Only feature, the load will be turned back on automatically. This prevents the load from being accidentally left in the Off position.

Bugfixes

  1. [Console/Firmware] Issue where battery gauge would break has been resolved. This issue was caused by the Noi device failing to effectively report the nominal system voltage in certain cases. The nominal voltage is now reported on a regular interval which will remedy the scaling issues of the battery gauge.

  2. [Console] The switch to control the Daytime Only feature of Noi has been fixed to display consistently for any supported devices. Previously the switch would only show for devices running outdated ProStar firmware.

  3. [Docs] The installation page of the docs had outdated settings for the Noi dip switches. These settings were acceptable when using Morningstar's MSC adapter or a TriStar charge controller, but they did not work with the RSC (RS485 to RS232) adapter. The improved setting is universal with all Morningstar hardware.

Features

  1. [Hardware 1.0.2] Noi LVD Update

Given an LVD condition, the Noi will go into one of 2 low power modes until the battery can charge back to a safe voltage.

    • If an LVD state is reached, Noi will enter SLEEP mode.
      • User can wake Noi up for data requests, but Noi will pause automatic data logging.
      • Outputs will remain in whatever state they were in prior to sleeping.
      • Noi will wake up every 8 hours or whenever the user makes a request.
      • SLEEP mode uses about 50% normal operating power (around 20mA @ 12VDC nominal).
    • If the battery continues to drain below 97% of the LVD setpoint, Noi will HIBERNATE.
      • User will not be able to wake Noi up, as the cellular modem is turned off for power savings.
      • Outputs will turn off to save power.
      • Noi will wake up every 12 hours unless it is manually reset via the 'RESET' button on the hardware.
      • HIBERNATE mode uses about 25% normal operating power (around 11mA @ 12VDC nominal).
    • This feature is a part of the following firmware versions:
      • PSPWM 1.0.2
      • PSMPPT 1.0.2
      • SSMPPT 1.0.2
      • TSPWM 1.0.2

The LVD update does not apply to the TriStar MPPT charge controller as that model does not include LVD functionality.

Enhancements

  1. [Hardware 1.0.2] Noi Alerts Update

Only one email alert per device will be sent to the user per 24 hour period. Alerts will continue to be logged as they occur on the console, and users can login to view them at any time.
